Hello, I am Ms. Jimenez.
I was once in middle school, too. We used to call it Junior High School and the grades were 7, 8, and 9th. In the picture above, I am second from the right. You cannot see my face though. This was our end of year play, You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown! and I was the Little Red-Haired Girl.
From Kindergarten to College, I have gone to public schools. To become a teacher, I graduated from California State University, Los Angeles (CSULA) with a degree in Urban Learning in 2008. I love to work in the urban, or city, area of Los Angeles. I am very happy to be your teacher at TEACH Academy of Technology this year because this campus and my students are in an urban area.
I continued attending CSULA after I started teaching in September 2008 and graduated with a master's degree in math education while also finalizing two credentials: single subject math and multiple subjects in 2011.
I love math, and I have taught Earth Science before. In my class, I encourage you to struggle, and not be afraid of making mistakes. It seems silly, but when you make a mistake, you actually learn more. I love puzzles, and I think that is why I love math and science, too.
My motto is "It is okay to make mistakes, but it is not okay to give up." This motto has brought me many successes, and I know it can work for you, too.
